woodcut, 1506, on laid paper, watermark Small Jug (not in Briquet), a good but later impression of the second, final state, Hollstein's edition e (after 1560), printed from the line block in black only, with narrow margins, a narrow paper loss at the upper sheet edge and some tiny losses at the corners, repaired and made-up with pen and ink, a tiny, repaired paper split in the lower rocks at right, otherwise in good condition

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lucas Cranach I could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Saint Christopher changed hands for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,806.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Cranach I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,333,000.00 (€ 13,231,059.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucas Cranach I konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wechselte die Arbeit Saint Christopher für GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.806,97) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas Cranach I erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.333.000,00 (€ 13.231.059,30).
