In the Master Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work Portrait Of Martin Luther (1483-1546) sold for USD 2,295,000.00 (€ 1,879,452.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lucas Cranach I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,333,000.00 (€ 13,231,059.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucas Cranach I erzielte im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Martin Luther (1483-1546) für USD 2.295.000,00 (€ 1.879.452,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucas Cranach I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.333.000,00 (€ 13.231.059,30).
