Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lucretia by Lucas Cranach I was sold in the Master Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,895,000.00 (€ 2,370,813.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lucas Cranach I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,333,000.00 (€ 13,231,059.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lucretia von Lucas Cranach I wurde im Februar 2018 in der Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.895.000,00 (€ 2.370.813,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucas Cranach I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.333.000,00 (€ 13.231.059,30).
