Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Mocking of Christ by Lucas Cranach I was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 488,750.00 (€ 547,996.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Cranach I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,333,000.00 (€ 13,231,059.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Mocking of Christ von Lucas Cranach I wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 488.750,00 (€ 547.996,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas Cranach I erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Bocca Della Verità (The Mouth Of Truth) im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.333.000,00 (€ 13.231.059,30).
