This artwork by Louis Ritman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2018. In the American Art auction, the work Woman With Watering Can sold for USD 360,500.00 (€ 308,911.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louis Ritman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot In the Garden sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of USD 542,500.00 (€ 403,255.78).
