The result of EUR 6,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Meijer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fisherfolk near beached pinken at dusk in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 176,250.00 (€ 80,895.45).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Rowing back the launch von Louis Meijer kam im April 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 6.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Meijer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fisherfolk near beached pinken at dusk im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 176.250,00 (€ 80.895,45).
