Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 21,150.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Meijer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fisherfolk near beached pinken at dusk, which sold at auction in April 2001 for NLG 176,250.00 (€ 80,895.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Dutch Fishing Boats Near The Coast von Louis Meijer wurde im Dezember 2009 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings and Modern & Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 21.150,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Meijer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fisherfolk near beached pinken at dusk beobachtet, die im April 2001 für NLG 176.250,00 (€ 80.895,45) versteigert wurde.
