Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Image of a Revolutionary by Louis le Brocquy was worth GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,840.67) to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis le Brocquy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travelling Woman With Newspaper in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 741,000.00 (€ 817,072.96).

Die Arbeit Image of a Revolutionary von Louis le Brocquy war einem Käufer im März letzten Jahres GBP 32.760,00 (€ 38.840,67) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis le Brocquy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travelling Woman With Newspaper im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 741.000,00 (€ 817.072,96).
