Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Image of W. B. Yeats by Louis le Brocquy was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 75,600.00 (€ 88,761.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis le Brocquy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travelling Woman With Newspaper in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 741,000.00 (€ 817,072.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Image of W. B. Yeats von Louis le Brocquy wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 88.761,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis le Brocquy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travelling Woman With Newspaper im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 741.000,00 (€ 817.072,96).
