In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Image of Samuel Beckett (Opus W1157) by Louis le Brocquy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,940.00 (€ 28,107.81), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis le Brocquy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travelling Woman With Newspaper in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 741,000.00 (€ 817,072.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Image of Samuel Beckett (Opus W1157) von Louis le Brocquy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 28.107,81) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis le Brocquy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travelling Woman With Newspaper im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 741.000,00 (€ 817.072,96).
