In the Old Master Paintings from the Lagerfeld Collection auction, the work Portrait of a young man, full-length, with Mount Vesuvius beyond sold for USD 32,900.00 (€ 35,270.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gauffier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ulisse Scopre Achille Tra Le Figlie Di Licomede in December 2009 with an auction result of EUR 504,750.00.
