Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction PhotographsSummer Edition, which included the work "Times Square 1940; A Paper Movie" by Lou Stoumen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,025.42), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lou Stoumen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Forty Years: Lou Stoumen, which sold at auction in October 2010 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,197.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion PhotographsSummer Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit "Times Square 1940; A Paper Movie" von Lou Stoumen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.570,00 (€ 3.025,42) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lou Stoumen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Forty Years: Lou Stoumen beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.197,35) versteigert wurde.
