A top price for Liu Yanchong
This artwork by Liu Yanchong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Scholar Brewing Tea After Chou Ying sold for HKD 1,562,500.00 (€ 171,971.58) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. This high result makes Scholar Brewing Tea After Chou Ying the most expensive artwork by Liu Yanchong that we have observed at auctions so far.
