Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mooring A Boat By The Snowy River by Liu Yanchong was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,218.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Yanchong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scholar Brewing Tea After Chou Ying in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,562,500.00 (€ 171,971.58).

Die Arbeit Mooring A Boat By The Snowy River von Liu Yanchong wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.218,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Yanchong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scholar Brewing Tea After Chou Ying im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.562.500,00 (€ 171.971,58).
