Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Liu Jianhua achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Games sold for USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,452.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Jianhua - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Games (Polychrome Ceramic Series), which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 168,000.00 (€ 124,879.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Jianhua erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Games für USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.452,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Jianhua mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Games (Polychrome Ceramic Series) beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 168.000,00 (€ 124.879,21) versteigert wurde.
