Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Liu Jianhua achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Games sold for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 64,753.32) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Jianhua; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Games (Polychrome Ceramic Series) sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of USD 168,000.00 (€ 124,879.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Jianhua erzielte im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Games für HKD 604.800,00 (€ 64.753,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Liu Jianhua; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Games (Polychrome Ceramic Series) im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 168.000,00 (€ 124.879,21).
