Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lin Xueyan could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the FINE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CHINESE PAINTINGS auction, the work Washing Yarn changed hands for HKD 16,925.00 (€ 1,876.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Other works by Lin Xueyan have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2001 by the work Ladies at HKD 23,500.00 (€ 3,350.05).

In der Auktion FINE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CHINESE PAINTINGS wechselte die Arbeit Washing Yarn für HKD 16.925,00 (€ 1.876,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Lin Xueyan wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2001 die Arbeit Ladies mit HKD 23.500,00 (€ 3.350,05).
