In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs, which included the work An old man's darling by Lillian Cheviot. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,200.78), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lillian Cheviot; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Sheepdog Puppy With A Kitten sold at auction in June 2001 with the realized price of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,831.68).

Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit An old man's darling von Lillian Cheviot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.200,78) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lillian Cheviot; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Sheepdog Puppy With A Kitten im Juni 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.831,68).
