Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script by Li Jian. It changed hands for a price of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 4,005.74) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Jian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boating Alone in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 38,266.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script von Li Jian zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 35.000,00 (€ 4.005,74) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Jian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boating Alone im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 38.266,56).
