Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscapes And Calligraphy In Running Script by Li Jian was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 93,750.00 (€ 9,892.12). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Jian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boating Alone, which sold at auction in November 2011 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 38,266.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscapes And Calligraphy In Running Script von Li Jian im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 93.750,00 (€ 9.892,12) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Jian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boating Alone beobachtet, die im November 2011 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 38.266,56) versteigert wurde.
