In December 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Landscape (No. 9) by Li Huayi. The result of HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 158,217.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Huayi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Forever Young in April last year with an auction result of HKD 12,475,000.00 (€ 1,508,318.31).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape (No. 9) von Li Huayi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 1.500.000,00 (€ 158.217,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Huayi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Forever Young im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.475.000,00 (€ 1.508.318,31).
