In June last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale, which included the work Reverberance by Li Chen. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 856,800.00 (€ 104,266.23), 71% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001) in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 17,975,000.00 (€ 1,924,505.40).
