Upper estimate price exceeded by 68 %.
The work Ephemeral Beauty by Li Chen was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. It achieved a price of HKD 2,016,000.00 (€ 243,749.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Admittedly, works by Li Chen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001) in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 17,975,000.00 (€ 1,924,505.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Ephemeral Beauty von Li Chen kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 2.016.000,00 (€ 243.749,07) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Chen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001) im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.975.000,00 (€ 1.924.505,40).
