Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Avalokiteśvara by Li Chen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 350,000.00 – 550,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 390,000.00 (€ 43,364.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001) in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 17,975,000.00 (€ 1,924,505.40).
