The work Angelic Smile by Li Chen was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year. It achieved a price of HKD 4,284,000.00 (€ 521,331.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Chen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001), which sold at auction in April 2021 for HKD 17,975,000.00 (€ 1,924,505.40).

Die Arbeit Angelic Smile von Li Chen kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 4.284.000,00 (€ 521.331,17) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Chen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001) beobachtet, die im April 2021 für HKD 17.975.000,00 (€ 1.924.505,40) versteigert wurde.
