Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lewis Carroll could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Photographs auction, the work Julia Arnold as an Allegory of Spring, circa 1870-71 changed hands for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,541.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lewis Carroll achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alexandra Kitchin in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,431.65).
