Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2010 Phillips in London held the auction BRIC Theme Sale, which included the work 4th May 1985 Dunya is born by Leonid Purygin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,700.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Leonid Purygin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Babylon Tower in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 56,900.00 (€ 79,674.72).
