Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leon Underwood could be acquired at Sothebys in London in March 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Made in Britain auction, the work The Gleaner (Ruth And Boaz) changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,062.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Underwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sungirl in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 100,951.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leon Underwood konnte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Made in Britain wechselte die Arbeit The Gleaner (Ruth And Boaz) für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.062,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Underwood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sungirl im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 91.250,00 (€ 100.951,16).
