Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Laocoön by Leon Underwood was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,730.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Underwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sungirl in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 100,951.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Laocoön von Leon Underwood wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.730,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Underwood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sungirl im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 91.250,00 (€ 100.951,16).
