Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mourning Women by Leon Golub was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in June 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,914.08). Admittedly, works by Leon Golub have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Squad X in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 197,000.00 (€ 158,385.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mourning Women von Leon Golub wurde im Juni 2019 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.914,08) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Golub auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit White Squad X im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 197.000,00 (€ 158.385,59).
