This artwork by Leon Golub achieved an unexpectedly high price at Grisebach in November 2015. In the Herbstauktionen 247-254 - Contemporary Art auction, the work „Head II“. sold for EUR 15,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Golub achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work White Squad X in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 197,000.00 (€ 158,385.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leon Golub erzielte im November 2015 bei Grisebach einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Herbstauktionen 247-254 - Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit „Head II“. für EUR 15.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Golub erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit White Squad X im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 197.000,00 (€ 158.385,59).
