Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head-Arm by Leon Golub was sold in the First Open auction at Christies in New York in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,798.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Leon Golub have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Squad X in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 197,000.00 (€ 158,385.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head-Arm von Leon Golub wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion First Open bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.798,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Golub auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit White Squad X im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 197.000,00 (€ 158.385,59).
