Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Piccadilly Circus by Léon de Smet for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,361.40). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon de Smet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roze Harmonie in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 668,742.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Piccadilly Circus von Léon de Smet für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.361,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Léon de Smet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roze Harmonie im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 485.000,00 (€ 668.742,97).
