Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Art Impressionniste et Moderne Day Auction, which included the work Stilleven by Léon de Smet. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 30,240.00 21% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon de Smet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roze Harmonie in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 668,742.97).
