In April 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Dorothy Hill, c. 1933 by Lee Miller. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,975.04), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Miller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 504,000.00 (€ 418,952.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im April 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dorothy Hill, c. 1933 von Lee Miller zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.975,04) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Miller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 504.000,00 (€ 418.952,62).
