This work of art by Lee Jaffe could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art | New York auction, the work The Ghost Of Sally Hemmings changed hands for USD 125.00 (€ 106.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Jaffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Jean-Michel Basquiat, Bullet Train 3); Untitled (Jean-Michel St. Moritz); & Untitled (Jean-Michel Basquiat, Working 1) in March 2017 with an auction result of HKD 43,750.00 (€ 5,263.25).
