Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work & Across the Great Divide by Lawrence Weiner for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,274.83). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Weiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit & Across the Great Divide von Lawrence Weiner für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.274,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Weiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
