Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Lawrence Weiner was sold in the Heatwave: Online Auction auction at Phillips in 19 - in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,445.00 (€ 4,445.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Weiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lawrence Weiner wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Heatwave: Online Auction bei Phillips in 19 - versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.445,00 (€ 4.445,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Weiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
