Auction result well in line with expectations
The work California Dreaming by Lawrence Weiner was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 10,160.00 (€ 11,853.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Weiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit California Dreaming von Lawrence Weiner wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.160,00 (€ 11.853,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Weiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
