The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,760.00 (€ 29,024.54), 64% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lawrence Carroll; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 1969 sold at auction in December 2013 with the realized price of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 48,113.80).
