In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Montreal River, Algoma by Lawren Stewart Harris. The »bidding war« ended at CAD 301,500.00 (€ 231,270.20), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lawren Stewart Harris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mountain Sketch LXIII, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 882,000.00 (€ 854,402.79).

Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Montreal River, Algoma von Lawren Stewart Harris zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CAD 301.500,00 (€ 231.270,20) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lawren Stewart Harris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mountain Sketch LXIII beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 882.000,00 (€ 854.402,79) versteigert wurde.
