Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Eskimo Tent, Pangnirtung, Baffin Island Ii by Lawren Stewart Harris. Here, the upper estimate of CAD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for CAD 163,500.00 (€ 117,393.36). Admittedly, works by Lawren Stewart Harris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mountain Sketch LXIII in November last year with an auction result of USD 882,000.00 (€ 854,402.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eskimo Tent, Pangnirtung, Baffin Island Ii von Lawren Stewart Harris zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von CAD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für CAD 163.500,00 (€ 117.393,36) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lawren Stewart Harris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mountain Sketch LXIII im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 882.000,00 (€ 854.402,79).
