Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lawren Stewart Harris could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Abstract Painting #98 changed hands for CAD 88,750.00 (€ 63,722.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawren Stewart Harris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mountain Sketch LXIII in November last year with an auction result of USD 882,000.00 (€ 854,402.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lawren Stewart Harris konnte im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wechselte die Arbeit Abstract Painting #98 für CAD 88.750,00 (€ 63.722,70) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawren Stewart Harris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mountain Sketch LXIII im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 882.000,00 (€ 854.402,79).
