Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,250.00 (€ 69,760.45). Admittedly, works by Lavinia Fontana have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Bianca Degli Utili Maselli, Half Length, In An Interior, Holding A Dog And Surrounded By Six Of Her Children in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 461,579.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl, bust-length von Lavinia Fontana wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Old Masters bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 81.250,00 (€ 69.760,45) einen neuen Besitzer.
