In June 2021 Christies in Paris held the auction Women in art, which included the work Portrait en pied d'un jeune garçon, avec son chien by Lavinia Fontana. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 162,500.00 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lavinia Fontana - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Bianca Degli Utili Maselli, Half Length, In An Interior, Holding A Dog And Surrounded By Six Of Her Children, which sold at auction in January 2012 for USD 602,500.00 (€ 461,579.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Women in art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait en pied d'un jeune garçon, avec son chien von Lavinia Fontana zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 162.500,00 und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lavinia Fontana mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Bianca Degli Utili Maselli, Half Length, In An Interior, Holding A Dog And Surrounded By Six Of Her Children beobachtet, die im Januar 2012 für USD 602.500,00 (€ 461.579,71) versteigert wurde.
