In April 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Girl, Bust-Length, In A Yellow Silk Dress With A Lace Collar, Wearing A Pearl Necklace And String Of Pearls In Her Hair by Lavinia Fontana. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,704.21), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lavinia Fontana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Bianca Degli Utili Maselli, Half Length, In An Interior, Holding A Dog And Surrounded By Six Of Her Children in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 461,579.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Girl, Bust-Length, In A Yellow Silk Dress With A Lace Collar, Wearing A Pearl Necklace And String Of Pearls In Her Hair von Lavinia Fontana zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.300,00 (€ 29.704,21) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lavinia Fontana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Bianca Degli Utili Maselli, Half Length, In An Interior, Holding A Dog And Surrounded By Six Of Her Children im Januar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 602.500,00 (€ 461.579,71).
