In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Fonte Aluminium Grungy Candy by Laurence Jenkell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 87,500.00 (€ 98,697.34), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laurence Jenkell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bonbon Aluminum Polimiroir, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 325,000.00 (€ 294,945.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fonte Aluminium Grungy Candy von Laurence Jenkell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 98.697,34) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Laurence Jenkell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bonbon Aluminum Polimiroir beobachtet, die im November 2019 für USD 325.000,00 (€ 294.945,09) versteigert wurde.
