Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
In October 2012 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Cactus blossom by Laura Gilpin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,575.86), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laura Gilpin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Ranchos Church', which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 26,541.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2012 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cactus blossom von Laura Gilpin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.575,86) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Laura Gilpin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Ranchos Church' beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 26.541,53) versteigert wurde.
