Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lao Lianben achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Water sold for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 46,163.24) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lao Lianben - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Meditation 3, which sold at auction in May this year for HKD 882,000.00 (€ 105,717.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lao Lianben erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Water für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 46.163,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lao Lianben mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Meditation 3 beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für HKD 882.000,00 (€ 105.717,48) versteigert wurde.
