The work Tryst by Lao Lianben was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 42,249.37), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lao Lianben - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Meditation 3, which sold at auction in May this year for HKD 882,000.00 (€ 105,717.48).

Die Arbeit Tryst von Lao Lianben wurde im April 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 42.249,37) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70%. Für andere Arbeiten von Lao Lianben mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Meditation 3 beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für HKD 882.000,00 (€ 105.717,48) versteigert wurde.
